Course Introduction

In this training we are laying the foundation of your knowledge and skills so that you have the tools you need to succeed as a peer supporter and to grow from strength to strength as you progress in your career.

The training is made up of ten modules, each focusing on a different aspect of peer support.

The training is practical and relevant to the real challenges faced by AYP peer supporters. It is also designed to protect your own wellbeing and professional growth. You will also find links to additional resources to keep learning beyond this course.

This course is especially designed for adolescents and young people interested in offering peer support services in health facilities or community settings. Whilst it mainly focuses on AYP living with HIV who support their peers, the skills you will gain are applicable to most scenarios you’ll encounter – meaning they are valuable for anyone in peer support roles, such as those supporting young mothers.
